CONTRIBUTION TO SCHOLARSHIP TO AMERICAN ASSOC. OF PETROLEUM GEOLOGISTS' OUTSTANDING STUDENT CHAPTER BY SCHLUMBERGER

| Schlumberger Oilfield Services announced today its contribution of two $1000 scholarships to the American Association of Petroleum Geologists' Outstanding Student Chapter Awards. Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was the award recipient among United States-based chapters, and Hasanuddin University in Indonesia was honored as the outstanding international chapter. Mo Cordes, marketing manager, Data & Consulting Services, Schlumberger Oilfield Services, presented the awards to these two outstanding chapters at Monday night's AAPG student meeting and reception. |
Schlumberger Oilfield Services announced today its contribution of two $1000 scholarships to the American Association of Petroleum Geologists' Outstanding Student Chapter Awards. Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was the award recipient among United States-based chapters, and Hasanuddin University in Indonesia was honored as the outstanding international chapter. Mo Cordes, marketing manager, Data & Consulting Services, Schlumberger Oilfield Services, presented the awards to these two outstanding chapters at Monday night's AAPG student meeting and reception. 'Schlumberger has a strong commitment to support universities who continue to excel with their geological student programs,' said Cordes. 'We are investing not only in the university, but also in our future employees and the future of the oil and gas industry.' Awards are presented yearly at the AAPG Annual Meeting. Student chapter requirements for selection of awards are maintenance of student AAPG memberships, active AAPG faculty sponsor, and participation in Earth Science Week, field trips, meetings and special community events. This is the eighth year Schlumberger has sponsored scholarships for the AAPG Outstanding Student Chapter Awards.
