| Schlumberger Messaging Solutions today announced that its complete messaging portfolio will be available on Linux. The first solution to be deployed on Linux is WAM, its Wi-Fi Authentication Manager, which provides secure authentication methods (such as EAP SIM) ensuring that only authorized subscribers can receive public WLAN access. |
The next product will be its USSD gateway. Schlumberger Messaging Solutions, who leads the way in this technology evolution in the telecoms industry, plans to make all its products, including its multi-protocols SMSC, available on Linux over the course of 2004. Schlumberger Messaging Solutions support GSM, TDMA, CDMA, GPRS and 3G standards and cover a broad range of products and services including: - SMS Products and Solutions - MMS Products and Solutions - Intelligent Network Applications Linux offers significant advantages to customers including a reduction of the total cost of ownership, an open yet secure operating system, more cost-effective deployment and flexibility in hardware vendor choice.
