ORDER FOR 500 000 HANDSETS FROM CHINESE PARTNER NINGBO BIRD CO. LTD FOR SAGEM

| SAGEM, a major international player in the field of telecommunications, just received an order for more than 500 000 handsets from its Chinese partner Ningbo Bird Co. Ltd a leading manufacturer in the mobile phones field in China.
In the scope of the agreement which dates from 1999, SAGEM will provide BIRD with one of its latest models the myX5-2, allowing them to broaden their product portfolio while commercialising a camera-phone integrated into a compact and trendy design. |
This product will be adapted to the Chinese market and manufactured by the Joint Venture created back in 2003 by SAGEM and BIRD. The retailed sales under the name BIRD will be secured by BIRD's large distribution network. To this order the Chinese manufacturer also selected the new electronic platform from SAGEM for new mobile phone developments. It will allow BIRD to develop several new products in its research centres located in Hangzhou and Fenghua, as well as several new handsets commonly agreed on within the Joint Venture. This reinforcement of their technological and commercial ties represents a complementary asset for both manufacturers to broaden their product range. SAGEM's technology is already very present in this country thanks to our partnership and a new milestone was achieved, since we will deliver this year over half a million myX5-2 handsets.
