SAGEM announces the signature of a contract with the Swedish company SVENSKA SPEL (National Swedish Lottery) for the development and manufacturing of 6600 on-line lottery terminals and instant ticket validation terminals. SAGEM has been selected after an international call for tender launched by SVENSKA SPEL in mid-2003. The contract will be implemented in collaboration with French company LOTSYS, in charge of software developments. The terminals chosen by SVENSKA SPEL, like all terminals of the SAGEM range, integrate, around a new-generation processor, a number of innovative features such as radio communications and electronic payment. These technologies, developed in-house by SAGEM offer lottery companies new opportunities of growth. Jean-Paul Jainsky, Managing Director of SAGEM's Security Division, declares: 'We are proud to have been selected by SVENSKA SPEL, a company with a widely acknowledged dynamism in the Lottery world. This contract will allow SAGEM to take an important step forward, in its strategy to offer innovative and cost effective terminals'. 'After evaluation of several highly competitive tenders, SAGEM was chosen due to their price versus performance capability as well as their ability to adapt a standard platform to our specific requirements', says Lars Olofsson, VP IT of SVENSKA SPEL. SAGEM has already delivered around 70 000 terminals world-wide, over the past seven years. This order thus confirms its position as a leading designer and manufacturer in the gaming industry.
