OERLIKON-CONTRAVES & SAGEM SIGN CONTRACT FOR 27.5 MILLION CANADIAN DOLLAR SUPPLY OF A SPERWER UAV SYSTEM

SAGEM signed on September 22nd with Oerlikon-Contraves of Canada a 27.5 Million Canadian dollar contract for the supply of a SPERWER UAV system to be deployed by the Canadian army for overseas operations.

Training for operation of this system has started on September 29th with the assistance of the French Army in Camp de Mailly. It will be ready for shipment at the end of October to support the ISAF (International Security Assistance Forces) mission operating under United Nations Mandate.

Canada, the sixth customer for SPERWER after Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, France and Greece, confirms SAGEM as the leading western supplier of tactical UAV's in a growing world-wide market.
