In aid of BBC Children in Need

Cambridge Consultants, the organiser of the annual Cambridge Fun Run for BBC Children in Need, is pleased to announce that this year's event will take place at lunch time on Friday, the 19th November. The event, which raised over £9,000 for Children in Need last year and attracted 80 teams, has bold ambitions of reaching the target of £15,000 and 150 teams. The invitation is open to any organisations and individuals, over the age of 18, throughout Cambridgeshire and not just those companies based on the Science Park.

Local people in and around Cambridgeshire, who are interested in raising money for charity, getting some much needed exercise and meeting new people, should follow this simple process:

Get a team of four people together, whether they are work colleagues, neighbours, friends or family

Decide whether your team is going to run in fancy dress

Pester friends, family and colleagues for sponsorship money

Start exercising or making costumes.

The Fun Run is a four by 1.1 mile relay race around the Science Park and awards are handed out to the winning male, female, mixed, over 40's and fancy dress teams.

Alistair Morfey of Cambridge Consultants, who organises the Fun Run each year, said 'Last year we had nearly 400 people running around the Science Park and it is great to see so many people taking time out of their day to support the Children in Need charity. For the last three years we have raised £9,000 each time and this year we are hoping to see this increase to £15,000. This does depend on the number of teams taking part, so I urge anybody who wants to do something for the national event to contact us for an entry pack and put a team together'.
