ARCOM ANNOUNCE SOCKET 370 PENTIUM III SINGLE BOARD COMPUTER FOR VERY HIGH PERFORMANCE APPLICATIONS
02 March 2002 - Arcom

Arcom announced the launch of a new EBX form factor single board computer which can be fitted with any Intel Socket 370 Celeron or Pentium III processor up to 1GHz. These are available and supported by Intel through their Telecommunications and Embedded Group (TEG) and Intel Embedded Architecture Division (EID). The board can accept up to 512Mbytes of 133MHz SDRAM using a standard DIMM memory module. The board includes the high performance S3 Savage4 graphics accelerator and an AC97 compliant audio interface (with 4W power amplifier) for multimedia applications.

The board can accept up to 512Mbytes of 133MHz SDRAM using a standard DIMM memory module. The board includes the high performance S3 Savage4 graphics accelerator and an AC97 compliant audio interface (with 4W power amplifier) for multimedia applications. X-VGA output is available as both standard CRT and DVI, making it ideal for driving remote flat panel displays. The board offers the maximum level of expansion and connectivity with a 10/100baseTx Ethernet port, 2 USB ports, 4 serial ports (RS-232/422/485), a standard PCI slot, an industry standard PC/104 site and a type II CompactFlash connector.

The OLYMPUS has been designed for applications which require both diskless and secure operation. Applications can be loaded and run from either a CompactFlash card or from 32Mbytes of soldered resident Intel StrataFlash memory. The board also includes a tamper detect input for additional security in ATM, gaming or any ‘black box’ applications. The unique 48bit board identification code can simplify system configuration management and maintenance while the watchdog timer offers a safeguard against system crashes.

The use of standard connectors for the communication ports, video and Ethernet simplifies the integration into your OEM system solution.

As with all Arcom processors, the OLYMPUS board is available with the most popular embedded operating systems pre-loaded and ready to run. Arcom’s award winning line of Development Kits include Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded, Embedded Linux with IBM Java technology, QNX, VxWorks and ROM-DOS. These Development Kits offer you fully tested, supported and documented board support packages at no extra cost.
