FIELDBUS FOUNDATION END USER COUNCIL EVENT RETURNS TO EASTERN EUROPE
28 September 2005 - Fieldbus Foundation
| The Fieldbus Foundation is holding an End User Council meeting in the heart of the Czech Republic at the Top Hotel, Prague, on October 18th 2005. The event is the first of the Autumn 2005 series of end user events coordinated by the Fieldbus Foundation's Europe, Middle East and Africa Steering Committee, and follows the successful EUC event held last year in Budapest, Hungary. |
The global adoption rate for FOUNDATION fieldbus- based control systems has skyrocketed and many end users have standardised on FOUNDATION technology for a wide range of control and instrumentation projects. EUC meetings provide a unique opportunity for current or prospective end users, engineering contractors or system integrators, to learn about successfully executed fieldbus projects and to share their own experiences or concerns about the implementation of FOUNDATION fieldbus technology. The next EMEA EUC event will take place in Bahrain in December. The Prague EUC event will kick off at 18.00 on Monday 17th October with a reception and dinner at the Top Hotel for all participants with Dr. Graeme Philp, Chief Executive of MTL Instruments Group, giving the keynote address 'FOUNDATION Fieldbus – Open for Business'. The event continues on Tuesday 18th October with a comprehensive programme offering attendees the opportunity to: Share practical experience of fieldbus projects in Central and Eastern Europe Engineering contractor's view: Mr. Lobpreis, UNIS End user's view: Roman Cerny´, RSM Chemacryl Hear how end user requests are driving new developments in fieldbus FOUNDATION fieldbus Safety Instrumented Systems: Andrea Moroni, ABB EDDL delivers open diagnostics graphical user interface: Pius Barmet, Emerson Process Management Review of new developments in fieldbus: Roger Highton, Fieldbus Foundation Influence future fieldbus developments Discussion group will prioritise end user recommendations for the Fieldbus Foundation End User Advisory Council The Fieldbus Foundation's EMEA Steering Committee is looking forward to the opportunity of taking the European EUC to the heart of Eastern Europe. Roger Highton confirmed, 'This is an exciting opportunity to support current and prospective European implementers of FOUNDATION fieldbus technology and to offer them, once again, a unique chance to share their experiences and any concerns that they may have. New developments in FOUNDATION fieldbus technology will be presented, based on the priorities identified at our successful previous European End User Councils in Cologne in 2003 and Hannover last year.' He continued, 'there is so much project activity in the area, the Fieldbus Foundation is delighted to be an integral part of such a formative period.' Due to the generous sponsorship by several Fieldbus Foundation member companies, there is no charge to end users and engineering contractors wishing to attend the event. Throughout the event, attendees will have the opportunity to view table top displays by the sponsoring member companies.
