Moog Inc. announced today that it has acquired the Industrial Servovalve business of the Schenck Pegasus Corporation in Troy, Michigan. Schenck Pegasus is a subsidiary of Carl B. Schenck A.G., Darmstadt, Germany. Founded in the early 1950s, Pegasus was acquired by Carl Schenck in the late 1980s. The company manufactures servocontrols and industrial servovalves and has an excellent reputation for supplying certain niche markets. Revenues are slightly over $2 million per year. Moog will move this business in its entirety to East Aurora, NY, and integrate it into Moog's Industrial Group which produces high-performance servocontrols and industrial servovalves for the worldwide automation market. This move will bring 15 new jobs to Moog's East Aurora complex. 'The Schenck Pegasus product fits perfectly within our industrial servovalve portfolio and will strengthen our offering to OEM customers all over the world,' said Marty Berardi, Vice President and General Manager of Moog's Industrial Controls Group. 'In addition, we'll provide our own strong aftermarket support for all of the Pegasus valves currently in service.'
