The magnets of the linear motors are now fitted with stainless steel protection plates. The torque motors are now offered with optional absolute encoders.

The GE Fanuc Lis Series of Linear Motors are ideal for a wide range of high productivity machine tools and other specialised machinery. Compact in size and lightweight, due to the high density winding and high efficiency cooling, they offer minimal wear, excellent path accuracy, high gain and high rigidity. Up to 0.01μm resolution is available at speeds up to 4m/s, with a flexible choice of linear scales.

There is a wide choice of 19 models of linear motors, available for 200V or 400V AC, offering maximum forces from 300N up to 17,000N and maximum load-free accelerations of up to 340m/s2. The motors are available in widths from 75mm to 360mm, and lengths from 80mm to 900mm. There are two types – a long, slim model, and a compact version. Stainless steel covers are fitted one per magnet, or as a complete seamless type covering all the magnets. The seamless type is particularly suitable for long stroke machines and for those using scrapers.

The Dis Series of synchronous Torque Motors are ideal for rotary tables and additional axes on 5-axis machines The series has been expanded to include eleven 200V and eleven 400V models. They offer maximum torques between 85Nm and 3000Nm with low torque ripples, and a maximum load-free angular acceleration of 100,000 deg/s2. All models can now be used with the new Alpha iCZ Sensor. This hollow-shaft absolute encoder utilises a toothed-wheel for easy assembly and maintenance, and is ideal for rotary tables on machining centres. It connects directly to a GE Fanuc Servo Amplifier via the FANUC serial interface.
