NEW PLUG-IN SOFTWARE TO ACROBAT READER GREATLY ENHANCES TEXT SEARCHING CAPABILITY

Echternach, Luxembourg – GE Fanuc has greatly improved the functionality and search facilities of the electronic documentation supplied for its CNCs and drives technology. The multi-language operator and maintenance manuals and unique facilities are now held on a single DVD offering significantly reduced search times for users and maintenance engineers.

The new GE Fanuc quaeroCNC End User Version comprises a single DVD which contains all the relevant CNC and drives manuals as PDF documents, in all the languages supported by the company. Included on the DVD is quaeroCNC software that plugs into Adobe AcrobatÒ/Acrobat ReaderÒ Version 5.0 or higher. Unique, advanced search facilities include phrase matching and compound filtering, for example by language and document type. This helps the user to quickly home-in on truly valid references. Clicking on an icon next to a listed document provides a unique KWIC-List (Key Word in Context) of all the references to the keyword/phrase in that document, helping the user to quickly identify which references are particularly relevant. Then, by clicking on a particular hit, Acrobat displays the document, with the hit highlighted, in a window alongside the navigation window. Navigation to further hits in that document, or to other documents, is simple and quick. Favourite documents can be marked in order to limit future search times if required.

Included on the quaeroCNC End User Version DVD are manuals for the operator and the maintenance engineer, overview handbooks of these manuals, and physical specifications of the hardware. With a Single User Licence, the customer receives the End User Version DVD including introductory reference documents explaining the full facilities offered by quaeroCNC and how to get the best out of them.
