MAJOR NEW AUTOMOTIVE ORDER FOR GE FANUC

Echternach, Luxembourg – Against strong competition, GE Fanuc has won a major order from PSA Peugeot Citroën for the control system to be fitted to machine tools in a new power train plant in Northern France. Reliability, productivity and customer support were key factors in winning the order. The PSA Peugeot Citroën engine plant, Française de Mécanique, will manufacture small car engines. Machining processes including those for the engine block, connecting rods, and crankshafts and camshafts will utilise machine tools from a number of manufacturers, all fitted with GE Fanuc CNCs and drives. According to Jean-Luc Montamat, VP for business development, GE Fanuc Europe, 'The very high reliability of our products is without question, but what impressed the customer strongly in this bid were the productivity of our CNCs and our commitment to the customer when deploying new projects.'
