NEW INDUSTRIAL PANEL PC IDEAL FOR ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENTS

GE Fanuc Automation has introduced a powerful new rack-mountable industrial PC designed for advanced manufacturing cells in automotive environments. With a 15' screen, the Intel Pentium III-based PANEL i for Automotive Industrial Computer is ideal as a panel PC for use in conjunction with GE Fanuc's latest i Series Open CNCs.

The GE Fanuc PANEL i for Automotive Industrial Computer features a bright 15' XGA-LCD screen, with touchscreen as an option. It offers a fully featured built-in horizontal alphanumeric keyboard and vertical multiple-function soft-keys. High performance is ensured with the choice of either an 866MHz or a 1.26GHz Intel Pentium III microprocessor and up to 512MB of main memory, operating with Windows XP/ 2000.

PANEL i for Automotive PC can be connected directly to GE Fanuc's i Series CNCs via a High Speed Serial Bus. This is a very high speed fibre-optic link, up to 100 metres in length, which can connect up to 8 machine tools to a single PC. As an option, the vertical soft keys can be mapped into the PMC through an I/O link. Onboard Ethernet connectivity allows data transfer to and from factory wide automation systems. On the front of the unit are three easily accessible ports: two are for USB connectivity, and the other is a PCMCIA slot for onsite backups and other data downloading or uploading tasks. Two PCI slots are also available for expansion to other applications.

Field maintainable items, such as hard drives and PSUs, are easily accessed for replacement. An alternative model PANEL i Industrial Computer is available for use as a powerful HMI running GE Fanuc's CIMPLICITY industrial automation software.
