NNE SUCCEEDS IN FRENCH PHARMACEUTICAL EXPANSION PROJECT

| On 8 September the healthcare company Novo Nordisk inaugurated a new production facility for insulin products in Chartres, 80 km south-west of Paris. The facility enables Novo Nordisk to meet the worldwide growing demand for insulin pens and cartridges used for treatment of people with diabetes. |
The pharmaceutical engineering company NNE has been one of the main suppliers of process and project engineering services to the project, which represents one of the largest pharmaceutical investments in the county ever. NNE has supplied engineering and project management services throughout the project, carried out and conducted by the newly established subsidiary in France. NNE's involvement spanned from conceptual design to validation services and assistance during take-over and performance qualification. From a technical viewpoint the services have ranged from clean room design and layout, over HVAC and monitoring systems, cleaning and sterilisation equipment, and clean utilities to CFR21 and automation consultancy services related to SCADA systems for production equipment. This is an important milestone for NNE, states Jesper Vedel, General Manager of NNE France. When we established the subsidiary in Chartres our first target was to successfully support Novo Nordisk's expansion in France. Now, we can look back at more than two years of dedicated work from our employees and an excellent
cooperation with the client on all levels of the organisation. So, I consider the project as NNE France's first major exam, passed with success and thus proving our services and their value to the life science industry in France. The success of the project is a confirmation of NNE's business strategy to retain a close relationship to the clients and be part of the ongoing internationalisation of the pharma and biotech industries.
