NNE has established a new PAT department to provide consultancy services on Process Analytical Technology to pharmaceutical manufactures worldwide. By comprising a team of PAT-specialists within a company with 700 life science focused engineers, architects and GMP specialists, NNE wishes to create a unique knowledge and consultancy centre covering all aspects concerning PAT systems and pharmaceutical manufactures. 'We believe the future PAT service is not just the implementation of technical tools, but a complete consultancy service answering why, where and how pharmaceutical manufacturers should apply PAT', says Iben E. Bechmann, manager of the new PAT department.
The PAT consultancy services of the new department cover everything from strategic consulting, business analysis (cost/benefits), risk assessment (e.g. HACCP and FMEA) to validation and implementation of PAT applications. The goal of PAT is to ensure product quality and performance through the design, analysis and control of effective and efficient manufacturing processes, and therefore PAT is seen as a cornerstone in FDA's new risk based approach to Good Manufacturing Practice. According to Iben E. Bechmann, PAT competencies are going to be increasingly important as health care companies will compete more and more on product prize in the future.
