In 2003 NNE experienced a significant reduction of activities. This had a considerable impact on the result of the year, leaving a pre-tax profit of DKK 4.2 million. Net turnover in 2003 was approx. DKK 960 million, which is 26% below the record turnover of DKK 1.3 billion in 2002. Pre-tax profit margin dropped to 0.4%. A moderate activity level was foreseen, but it turned out to be significantly lower than expected, mainly due to repeated reductions in the investment plans of NNE's largest client, Novo Nordisk. General Manager of NNE, Hans Ole Voigt, comments: - The result is not satisfactory, and we can make it better. We expect to increase the profit margin significantly in 2004. But I am pleased to see that turnover to clients outside Novo Nordisk was DKK 140 million in 2003, an increase of 40% from 2002 – and a clear result of our strategy to expand our portfolio of national and international clients. NNE has just published its Annual Review 2003, which includes an account of the internationalization outlook.
