With the official opening of IBP (Insulin Bulk Plant) on 26 June 2003, NNEs largest project ever is carried out with succes. 'It has been a unique catalyst for growth, providing us with invaluable know-how and skills that add new dimensions to what we were able to do before we threw ourselves into our largest, most complex project to date,' says Hans Ole Voigt, managing director in NNE. NNE built the factory for Novo Nordisk A/S, which invested EUR 300 million in the project, the largest single investment in the Group's history. The factory is now finished and has been handed over to the client, ready to supply the world market with top quality insulin. For NNE, this enormous project has been a monumental challenge, the largest individual project carried out to date. The project involved all of the company's trades and professions and called on NNE's combined know-how and skills in areas such as pharmaceutical building and production, processing plants, automation, pipe design, utilities, laboratory design, clean-room technology, electrical installations, validation and qualification and the environment. Numerous external suppliers from Denmark and abroad also participated in the project. In a special edition of the news magazine 'NNEws' some of the project's professional challenges are presented. The magazine also describes the necessary focus on project organization that such a large and complex undertaking entails.
