On 1 June 2001 the foundation stone was laid for 'Medical Systems Factory number 2' in Hillicon Valley at Hillerød, Denmark. This marks the start of yet another turnkey project with NNE as Project Manager. The project comprises production facilities, warehouse, administration building and laboratories, involving all building engineering disciplines. In addition, the project includes assembly, packaging, and automation. A total of 18,000 m² with NNE as responsible for project management from start to end, headed by Finn Djurslev, Lisbet Lund and Christine Rohde Rasmussen. The stone-laying ceremony took place on 1 June 2001 and included the participation of Georg Skøt, Vice President of 'Medical Systems', Novo Nordisk A/S, and Nick Hækkerup, mayor of Hillerød. The factory will be producing the first electronic insulin doser in the world, one of Novo Nordisk's many sophisticated products.
