Netherlands-based Nyquist BV, a leading provider of industrial motion-control solutions for machines such as those used in semiconductor and medical-equipment manufacturing industries, is to become part of Bosch Rexroth.

With effect from 2005-10-31 the Bosch Group will take over the producer of drive and control technology, Nyquist B.V. The company will be assigned to Bosch Rexroth organizationally.

The achieved sales of Bosch Rexroth AG are approximately 4.1 billion Euros (2004 figures) with 26,400 employees. Under the brand name of Rexroth, the company offers all relevant drive, control and motion technologies: from mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics through to electronics and the associated services.

Based in Eindhoven (The Netherlands) and with branches in Germany, Switzerland, France and Singapore, Nyquist has built up a solid reputation in the motion control arena since the business became fully independent from Philips in 1998. The company's impressive and innovative product portfolio has found a broad base of customers around the globe.

Nyquist's track record of continuous innovation has unleashed successful products that have scored highly among today's cost and quality conscious machine builders. Eric Hezemans, Nyquist's CEO is equally enthusiastic about the acquisition and pointed out the benefits of continuity for customers and the possibility of bringing to them complete solutions, including highpower drives, motors and linear guidance products, together with worldwide support. 'This takeover underlines the success of our focus strategy with motion control as a core competence. Our customers can rest assured that we will continue to strengthen our product lines and further develop our strategy to provide solutions that match precisely their requirements.'

About: Nyquist Industrial Control
Nyquist has a long and rich history. A history that goes back to the beginning of the early seventies, when the company was still part of Philips. Since then, the organisation has played a pioneering role in the field of high-quality Motion Control systems, VME and PLC machine control platforms.

The foundations for the present-day company Nyquist Industrial Control were paved in the seventies. This happened when the first standardised servo system was developed, initially created for Philips' internal machine building. This led to a large international installed base, both within and outside of our own organisation. For instance, the doors of the Dutch Railways' trains are still fitted with VME-based control systems from Nyquist. And then just think of all the automatically opening bridges, traction systems, trams, machines for making glass moulds, embroidering machinery, pastry-making machines, ships' terminals, incinerators and water purification plants.
