Nyquist Industrial Control and VenturCom are partners in the area of industrial control and more specifically in Motion Control. The cooperation has lead to the support of RTX, VenturCOM's real-time extension software, for Nyquist's NYCe3000 Motion Control systems. VenturCom's industry RTX software, a robust and industry leading real-time extension, is offered by Nyquist as a supplementary package to its current line of NYCe3000 Motion Control products. RTX is a real-time extension that adds a finer degree of task scheduling and timing control to Windows NT and Windows NT Embedded. The added control enables engineers of next generation equipment to reliably develop and deploy high performance, mission-critical applications that run on Windows operating systems. RTX enables Windows NT to address the real-time development and execution environment of mission critical applications that require high performance and real-time determinism. RTX enables Windows NT to function as both a general-purpose operating system and a high-performance real-time operating system, at the same time, on the same computer. The combination of DSP based Motion Control, high-speed, high-synchronous real-time FireWire and Windows operating systems provide a solid and future proof platform for OEM machine builders. Offering RTX as a supplementary package reflects Nyquist's customers needs. This powerful combination makes it possible to run the Human Machine Interface on the same system that controls the motion and I/O. 'The performance and qualities of RTX are such that we decided to offer it as a supplementary package on our current NYCe3000 product line', says Twan Smetsers, Marketing Director of Nyquist. 'Our OEM customers using the combination of high-performance Motion Control and Windows operating systems require the guarantees offered by RTX.' Fabrice Boisset, European Marketing Manager at VenturCom says: 'We are pleased to welcome Nyquist as one of our partners. Nyquist is one of the leaders as solution provider in the industrial control market. Together, VenturCom and Nyquist bring to this market a unique real-time solution based on open standards. We look forward to a long and productive relationship with the company.'

About: Nyquist Industrial Control
Nyquist has a long and rich history. A history that goes back to the beginning of the early seventies, when the company was still part of Philips. Since then, the organisation has played a pioneering role in the field of high-quality Motion Control systems, VME and PLC machine control platforms. The foundations for the present-day company Nyquist Industrial Control were paved in the seventies. This happened when the first standardised servo system was developed, initially created for Philips' internal machine building. This led to a large international installed base, both within and outside of our own organisation. For instance, the doors of the Dutch Railways' trains are still fitted with VME-based control systems from Nyquist. And then just think of all the automatically opening bridges, traction systems, trams, machines for making glass moulds, embroidering machinery, pastry-making machines, ships' terminals, incinerators and water purification plants. |
