Now available in the UK from specialist distributor Switchtec, the Hongfa range of automotive relays is truly comprehensive to meet the needs of many applications in the industry. As well as being competitively priced, the relays are manufactured to very high standards enabling designers to specify from the range for many automotive applications with complete confidence.

Aimed at manufacturers and OEMs in the automotive industry, the range will be useful for any automotive applications where electric motors are used such as electric sunroofs and windows, also in trailers, electric wheel chairs, and electric golf trolleys.

The Hongfa automotive range from Switchtec includes relays with switching capabilities of between 6A to 70A including models with high inrush capabilities for inductive load (motor) applications. Additionally, certain relays have been designed to be very silent in operation. This characteristic enables them to be positioned near to the operator, removing the need for them to be mounted away from the application, thus reducing the amount of cable and assembly infrastructure required.

The range embraces application specific designs to perform specific functions within the automotive industry. The HF350 series is designed for wiper/fuel pump/flasher control. Another attractive feature is that the relay range is very space conscious, so there are relays for applications where space is an issue. An example is the HFKA model that is a 30A relay measuring a diminutive 14 x 7.2 x 13.5mm.

As part of the 'drive' towards relays that provide high reliability, the Hongfa automotive range from Switchtec is able to cope with extremes in weather and temperature. Relays are available that can operate in ambient temperatures of
-40°C to 125°C, and with IP ratings up to IP67.

A chief factor driving the demand for Hongfa's range is the automotive industry's increasing demand for higher quality, higher specification relays to assure reliability in today's highly specified vehicles.
