MARKET RESEARCH AND STRONG PROMOTION LEAD TO SALES SUCCESS FOR CONNECTOR RANGE

Bucking market trends, Switchtec has reported a 30% increase in its sales of Euroclamp connector products compared to last year (2002). The range of terminal blocks, PCB connectors and supports, and male/female connectors has been a great success for specialist distributor Switchtec, who has sold the product to OEMs and CEMs predominantly for use in PCB applications.

Says General Manager Steve Pounder, 'Euroclamp has been a success story for Switchtec mainly because both parties have invested considerable time, effort and money into the product range. Euroclamp has expanded the range to meet market needs and trends, including some suggestions from ourselves following feedback from our FSEs who are in close contact with purchasers and end users.

'We have been promoting and pushing the range for five years, and we feel that it has now come of age. All the research, PR, advertising and promotional work that we have done has been money well spent. Although the marketplace is flat at the moment, such is the belief in the product, by customers and ourselves alike, that we have actually taken market share to increase our sales figures by 30% year on year.'

'We have an exclusive agreement with Euroclamp in the UK, and we intend to leverage our position further by bringing in new products to meet the needs of emerging applications, and by being instrumental in the development of products that provide a commercial advantage by reducing manufacturing time and costs for manufacturers, and by providing features and benefits that make the products attractive to end users.'
