INTELLIGENT LIGHT TOWERS SHINE IN AUTOMATED INDUSTRIES

Following detailed development work with AS-interface (AS-i) association members, Sirena, Europe's leading manufacturer of visual and acoustic signalling equipment, has added an intelligent AS-i base module to its popular range of light towers making them ideal for use with AS-i control systems.

In automated industries AS-I is the most simple and economic wiring system operating through control elements on one side and actuators and sensors on the other. AS-I transmits information on a two-wire cable that at the same time supplies the unit with power.

When the AS-I base module is employed with the Sirena AS-I light tower visual and audible signalling of machine status is possible, controlled from a single two wire AS-interface system, allowing a maximum consumption of 210mA in total per light tower.

Up to four luminous elements or three luminous elements plus one siren element can be operated by one slave communicating through the AS-I line with computer control of the system.

The visual warning devices are based around a modular building block system, making them easy to assemble and safe in use. The modular system allows the light towers to be configured to suit each application, with a range of mounting brackets and junction boxes ensuring ease of installation.

Total safety is guaranteed with the light towers. The units are protected to IP65 and they have been designed so that fingers or tools cannot be inserted into any powered section.

For ease of maintenance it is possible to change modules in safety without having to disconnect the power supply.

Assembly is quick and easy, without the need for tools. The light towers simply slot together and incorporate a locking system to prevent them becoming loose when subjecting to vibration.

Available in six different colours, each AS-i light module uses LED bulbs for long life. Continuous and flashing units, including an acoustic module, complete the line-up.
