The StepLogger is a mobile logging and tracking device that uses GPS to provide accurate location, FLASH memory to store data, and GSM to transmit data and events. At the touch of a button an SMS message with the exact location can be sent to one or more pre-programmed phone numbers. Sarantel's Geohelix antenna was selected for its high sensitivity in near-body use, its small size, and ease of integration into the StepLogger. These features enable the StepLogger to pinpoint location to exacting standards in very difficult situations. Chris Wood, Chief Technical Officer of NEVE ITS, said: "The Sarantel GeoHelix GPS antenna surpassed NEVE's performance and design expectations, allowing us to meet and exceed customer requirements for a compact, mobile, non-invasive and, importantly, light-weight personal tracking and logging device. NEVE, when balancing performance and ease of integration, needed an antenna that provided excellent close-to-body performance and small PCB footprint; the GeoHelix antenna gave us that." Joe Murray, President of Sarantel Asia/Pacific added: "We're pleased to have been chosen by NEVE ITS for this project. Developing the StepLogger required some savvy engineering by the NEVE team, which included an innovative GPS antenna solution. Sarantel's GeoHelix antenna helped NEVE overcome the challenges of size, sensitivity, and performance in a multi-radio platform subject to less-than-ideal user environments."
