ROYALTEK SELECTS SARANTEL ANTENNA FOR GPS POCKET PC
02 February 2005 - Sarantel Limited

Sarantel will supply its award winning GeoHelix global positioning system antenna to RoyalTek Company Ltd, a leading GPS consumer products manufacturer in Taiwan known for innovative design in high performance GPS wireless products.

Superior performance and high sensitivity were the decisive factors for RoyalTek in integrating Sarantel's GPS antenna into its new GPS Pocket PC product for worldwide distribution under well-known brands. Sarantel's GeoHelix GPS antenna will enable RoyalTek's new Pocket PC to offer GPS functionality by delivering accurate positioning in a range of difficult and hostile environments, helping users to navigate and locate services quickly and easily.

RoyalTek's new Pocket PC is compact and lightweight with an integrated GPS receiver powering a complete GPS navigation system. An embedded SD/MMC card slot ensures ample data storage for mapping and application software. A full array of GPS features, including detailed maps, routing, points and directional information, makes this handheld device convenient for pedestrians and cyclists. Its bright, high-resolution color LCD makes viewing easy at any time of the day.

With its exceptional miniature size, GeoHelix was certainly the main contribution to an attractive consumer PDA with seamless integration of GPS capability. Dr Jin Su, RoyalTek's President said, "Consumers around the world are fast realizing how useful GPS navigation can be. GPS features are now an expected function for PDAs and even cell phones. The small size and consistent performance of Sarantel's antenna make it possible for this product to be a portable pocket PC as well as an in-vehicle navigator."

Commenting on Sarantel's success with RoyalTek, David Wither, CEO of Sarantel said, "A design win with an industry leader like RoyalTek further recognizes the GeoHelix as next generation antenna technology. This success is another market example of how Sarantel's antenna can help make GPS a natural addition to a consumer PDA."

Joe Murray, Sarantel's President Asia/Pacific, remarked, "RoyalTek sees the GeoHelix as ideal for its leading-edge GPS consumer products. A key factor is simplifying integration of high-performance GPS into a robust pocket PC. In addition to shortening the design cycle, our antenna enhances the look and feel of RoyalTek's streamlined, easy to use product."
