OEONE & TATUNG JOIN TO DELIVER FULLY-INTEGRATED INTERNET COMPUTER SOLUTION TO MARKET
31 October 2000 - Axentra

OEone Corporation, a leading software developer, and Tatung Co. of Canada Inc., a leading Electronics manufacturer, today announced that they have entered into a joint agreement to bring fully-integrated, Linux-based Internet Computer solutions to leading OEM customers.

The centerpiece of the agreement is an exclusive arrangement between the two parties to fully integrate OEone's Linux-based Operating Environment and web applications with Tatung's All-In-One plus additional custom computer designs. The key to the combined offering is that the Operating System software and applications are fully tested together with the exact hardware configuration, ensuring that the unit will operate right out of the box, similar to traditional household appliances. The consumer can look forward to increased reliability and avoid the irritation of incompatibilities that can often occur in today's computer offering.

"We are especially excited about how this alliance with Tatung will improve the company's visibility and enhance our market penetration," said Mr. Seste Dell'Aera, OEone's Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "Teaming up with Tatung allows us to introduce our software products directly to the decision makers of leading OEMs worldwide."

OEone is a leading Linux-based software developer leveraging Open Source technologies to deliver a fully-integrated Operating Environment for the emerging Internet Computer market. The OEone software platform is based on the Linux Operating System, Netscape browser and Apache server, to deliver a suite of web applications that simplifies the process of delivering affordable high-performance Information Appliances to the market.

"This strategic alliance marks a new way of working closely with software developers to customize an integrated Linux solution, where our hardware configuration is taken into consideration," noted Mr. Edward Kuo, President of Tatung Canada. "Our combined offering brings key differentiation and affordability as compared to any other solution available in the market today."

Tatung of Canada is the Canadian manufacturing arm of Tatung Worldwide Operations headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan. Globally Tatung's facilities worldwide are responsible for over $5 billion manufacturing yearly. This world-class company stands out as Taiwan's largest computer product manufacturer producing over 600 million displays, motherboards, DVD ROMs, etc. each year. Tatung leverages these strengths to create long-term win-win relationships with its partners.

"Acquiring a partner with the stature of Tatung is a tremendous development in the young history of a company like OEone," said Mr. Eid EID, President & CEO of OEone. "This venture enables us to showcase our innovative Internet Computing platform, incorporating the robustness of Linux and the flexibility of Netscape browser and XML technology, to the industry's influential players."
