NEW ADDITION TO L-FORCE
06 October 2004 - Lenze Limited

Lenze has added asynchronous motors to its L-force concept. The MCA series is to feature an electronic nameplate which will enable 9400 series L-force servo controllers to read all required motor data automatically. The further standardisation o f the connectors for the motor cable and feedback means that these motors feature the same design principles as the synchronous servo motors in the well-known MCS range.

They already form part of the L-force concept, Lenze's new generation of drive and automation technology. Benefits include faster installation and ease of servicing.

With body cross sections between 100 and 214 square, the MCA series supports a torque range from 2 Nm up to a maximum peak torque of 300 Nm. The compact motors provide continuous power of between 0.25 and 20 kW at the shaft. If space is at a premium in a machine, the motors can be fitted with a separate cooling system, transforming them into powerful energy bundles.

These self-ventilated asynchronous servo motors provide an IP54 degree of protection as standard (IP65 can be provided as an option). The generously proportioned roller bearings with high-temperature resistant grease and a heavy-duty insulation structure result in a long service life and maximum availability even under intensive load conditions. The various flange and shaft shapes enable flexible installation and mean that the motors can be integrated easily into a wide range of applications. Moreover, Lenze offers a comprehensive modular system of gearboxes which can be directly combined with the motors. Friction connections ensure zero backlash even when faced with demanding requirements with regard to dynamics. For the toughest of requirements, such as within the context of handling technology and robotics, MCA motors can be combined with Lenze GPA series servo planetary gears.

A wide range of rotary encoders is available to suit specific individual requirements. The same applies to integrated permanent magnet brakes. As Lenze products are used all over the world, these motors have UR certification as standard.
