NEW DISTRIBUTED SERVO WITH INTEGRATED DRIVE

A new range of small servo motors with integrated servo drives has been launched by Lenze. The 'fluxxtorque' range covers powers from 140 to 500W with rated torques 0.45 to 1.6Nm. Assemblies consist of a smooth bodied servo motor with a compact servo drive directly mounted to the rear. Supply voltage is either 230V AC single phase or 48V DC.

The fluxxtorque servo motors can be mounted right where they are needed on the machine as enclosure is to IP54. The requirement for panel space is reduced, as is the amount of cabling required and consequently machines can be built faster. Fluxxtorque represents a plug and play drive system that is easy to use. Once the power and communications connections are made, it is ready to go. Parameter setting software smoothes the way for quick commissioning.

Easy plug connections are provided for power and fieldbus connections – the latter can be CANopen or PROFIBUS-DP. With IEC standard dimensions, the motors can readily be combined with in-line or right angle gearboxes. Planetary gearheads are often an attractive option for these motors and standard solutions exist for fast delivery times. The motors and drives are self-cooling without a fan, enhancing reliability and leading to quiet operation. An emergency stop and holding brake is available as an option.

The fluxxtorque range is finding applications in machinery that require speed and precision with low torques. Typical cases are dosing pumps, packaging machines and small positioning tables. Information and advice is available from Lenze Ltd.
