GE ACCESS EXPANDS PORTFOLIO WITH GE DIGITAL ENERGY PRODUCTS
15 April 2002 - GE Industrial Systems
| GE Access, the premier value-added distributor of complex computer products, solutions and services, has just expanded its product range with products from another GE division, GE Digital Energy, formerly known as IMV. This agreement adds power quality solutions to GE Access' portfolio that will bridge the gap between a company's electricity supply and the premium power requirements for its infrastructure. |
GE Access will distribute all of the GE Digital Energy products. The offering includes an unmatched level of power reliability for mission-critical installations through a comprehensive line of UPS systems ranging from 500 VA to 4MVA and Javaâ-based software solutions for networked and stand-alone applications. GEDE's unique Redundant Parallel ArchitectureTM (RPATM) results in no single point of failure for the UPS system. In addition, GE Access will offer GEDE's Advanced Power SystemTM(APSTM) solution; a modular mission critical power solution for projects from 250 kVA to 50 MVA. 'Competitive advantage increasingly comes not from the ability to shift boxes, but from the ability to add value to a particular service or product,' said Jürg Schwerzmann, Director Global Alliances at GE Digital Energy. 'We chose GE Access as our distributor because we needed an experienced partner with the right technological knowledge. We don't want to just sell our customers a 'one-size-fits-all' product, but want to provide them with customised offering of product and advice.' 'This partnership leverages the best of both companies,' said Chris Ernst, Manager Vendor and Solution Marketing at GE Access. 'It provides us with a great product that fits our existing portfolio perfectly, and gives GE Digital Energy is a trusted partner with global channel management and project development expertise. It is great to be able to partner with a company that carries the same brand and shares our values as well as our solution-oriented way of working.'
