GE DIGITAL ENERGY INTRODUCES UPS PRODUCTS FOR NORTH AMERICAN MARKET
04 June 2002 - GE Industrial Systems
| GE Digital Energy, a division of GE Industrial Systems and a leading provider of critical power solutions to the digital marketplace, today introduced a family of high-performance Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) products for North America. The GE products will provide power protection for a vast array of mission critical applications. |
The SitePro and LanPro UPS product families are being offered in North America through GE Digital Energy's UPS business, a unit that was created in 2001 through its acquisition of Invertomatic Victron Energy Systems (IMV) of Switzerland. These products provide highly reliable and managed power supplies to numerous organizations in multiple industries, ranging from healthcare facilities and financial institutions to industrial manufacturing plants and telecommunication/IT systems. 'As the North American business community continues its move to digital technologies, the need for absolutely reliable power supplies becomes more and more urgent, ' said Jim Shepard, president, GE Digital Energy. 'Organizations with mission critical operations, such as data centers or health care facilities, cannot afford even a few seconds of down time that often comes with power disturbances. These UPS products ensure there will be no interruption due to power disturbances.' The SitePro and LanPro UPS products provide the highest levels of power reliability in the industry, as a result of several key technology attributes: Each UPS module operates in a double conversion mode (providing true on-line operation), thus providing complete power protection. The products are fully compliant with international standards on Voltage Frequency Independent (VFI) operation, which make them extremely reliable for data security and other demanding applications. Each UPS module can be utilized in parallel configuration with GE Digital Energy's exclusive Redundant Parallel ArchitectureTM (RPATM) technology. This unique technology offers true peer-to-peer configuration with redundancy in all critical elements and functions and provides the highest possible system reliability for mission critical applications without single points of failure. The SitePro is a three-phase UPS available in models from 10 kVA up to 300 kVA. For high-power redundant applications, it can be installed with up to eight units in parallel, achieving power protection up to 2.4 MVA. The LanPro is a single-phase high-performance UPS available in models from 5 kVA to 10 kVA. The robust design can be deployed in industrial and IT applications and can be easily expanded with up to four units in parallel, achieving power protection up to 40 kVA.
