Emerson Process Management, an Emerson business, has been named the Best Technology Provider of process management products in seven categories in Chemical Processing magazine's second annual "Readers' Choice" Awards. Industry users were asked to name the one company they thought was the best provider in various equipment and software categories. Specifically, Emerson ranked No. 1 in process automation systems, process analyzers, valves and actuators, and four instrumentation categories. " Kudos go particularly to Emerson, being named so often and at such a high rate clearly testifies to customers' high opinions of their products and services." "Readers were given a blank form so every company had an equal chance to receive a nomination, and were asked to vote only in those categories in which they have first-hand experience with the technology," says Mark Rosenzweig, Chemical Processing editor-in-chief. "Kudos go particularly to Emerson, being named so often and at such a high rate clearly testifies to customers' high opinions of their products and services." Emerson's technology is networked on the company's revolutionary PlantWeb digital plant architecture, a digital automation solution that delivers asset management, process control and management execution through the use of intelligent field devices, standard network communications, and integrated modular software. Emerson technology was named best in category by a margin of more than 4-to-1 over the next named company in flow instrumentation, pressure instrumentation, and temperature instrumentation; and by a wide margin in level instrumentation, process automation systems, valves/actuators, and process analyzers. Emerson also placed second in vibration monitoring and instrument calibration. "This survey clearly tells us that we are on target in our commitment to deliver what users are seeking in process control technology, solutions and services," said John Berra, president of Emerson Process Management. "We are honored by the results of this survey and will continue to invest in leading technologies such as PlantWeb in order to create powerful process automation solutions which deliver business value to our customers."
