LATEST MODELS DELIVER 10X DENSITY ACCURACY INCREASE
11 October 2005 - Emerson Process Management
| Emerson Process Management today announced the latest models of its Brooks Instrument QUANTIM Coriolis family of low-flow meters and controllers. These new models have a NEMA 4x / IP65 weatherproof package, and are fully approved for service in Class 1 Division 2 / Zone 2 or Class 1 Division 1 Groups C&D / Zone 1 explosion-proof environments. |
These approvals extend the Brooks Coriolis meters and controllers to functional applications for which direct mass flow measurement and control are particularly difficult, such as in areas where the product may be exposed to dust, moisture or hazardous environments. As part of this release, QUANTIM's density accuracy specification has been improved to +/- .005 grams/cc, or +/- 0.5% on water, representing a 10-fold improvement over the previous specification. A modular hardware platform allows QUANTIM to accurately measure and control liquid and gas flows as low as 1 g/hr and as high as 28,000 g/hr. QUANTIM is the lowest flow Coriolis meter and controller available on the market today. Users can change liquids or gases without switching meters or recalibrating the device. QUANTIM has no moving parts in the area where process liquids and gases flow, which minimizes maintenance requirements. In addition to measuring mass flow, the device can simultaneously measure density and temperature, making it a true multivariable instrument. Piping and wiring during installation are dramatically simplified since QUANTIM has a fully integrated sensor, transmitter, valve, and control electronics. With a footprint the size of a handheld organizer, the basic model fits neatly into tight spaces.
