To help plant personnel reduce mechanical failures, Emerson has extended the predictive technology of its innovative PlantWeb digital plant architecture to launch the industry's first Smart Machinery Health Management solutions, which provide continuous real-time monitoring of motor-pump machines that are traditionally monitored infrequently and repaired only when they fail.

As a first innovation in this new category of instruments, Emerson's CSI 9210 Machinery Health Transmitter delivers continuous actionable information about rotating equipment health directly into plant process control systems and asset management applications. With this real-time information, plant operators are able to easily view rotating equipment status, recognize issues with machinery, and take actions to improve availability and plant performance.

Emerson's PlantWeb architecture has helped users realize up to 30% savings in installation costs as well as up to 66% improvement in maintenance productivity. Customers have also seen at least 2% improvement in overall plant efficiency and 20 to 30% improvement in specific process efficiency.
