GE Digital Energy has announced the availability of its Uninterrupted Power Supplies and Advance Power Systems in India. GE said its power protection products are aimed at customers in mission critical markets such as information technology, telecommunications, and healthcare. The GE manufacturing facility in Switzerland is responsible for the production of the GE UPS products, while the APS products, which were introduced by GE six months ago, are manufactured in the USA and Canada. Martin Kemper, Asia Pacific Managing Director for GE Digital Energy, said, 'Organizations with mission critical operations, such as call centers, data centers or health care facilities, cannot afford even a few seconds of down time that often comes with power disturbances. The GE UPS and APS products offer power quality solutions that achieve the highest levels of long-term power availability and reliability to ensure there is no interruption due to power disturbances.' Kemper added, 'India is an important market especially for businesses with precision electronics or IT processing that need to have clean, uninterrupted power. We are extremely pleased to be able to provide our power quality offerings to this market.' The GE UPS Products GE's UPS products range from 500 VA to 4MVA, offering a unique Redundant Parallel ArchitectureTM (RPATM), which significantly reduces single points of failure. Associated software products include power management and data protection solutions to ensure a flexible and scalable approach for office or industrial applications, and the Intelligent Energy ManagementTM(IEMTM) system, which optimizes operational costs while maintaining the highest possible reliability. The GE APSTMProducts GE's APS is a self-contained unit designed to provide essential (generator backed up power) and critical (UPS conditioned) power to mission critical facilities. The APS is a self-contained, virtual plug-and-play power quality solution that focuses on the interconnection of the utility to the critical load. Designed to minimize field installation and operational requirements, the APS operates automatically under self-contained controls with seamless integration to a facility. By combining power generation, conditioning and energy storage along with all the ancillary electrical distribution equipment, the APS solves a complex power problem with a level of simplicity never before seen in the market.
