GE Multilin's new Motor Protection with the 469 Interactive Learning CD offers students a new way to enrich their knowledge on the theory and practice of motor protection using GE Multilin's 469 relay. The CD is an ideal complement to GE Multilin's instructor-led classes and includes a wealth of information on motor theory, motor protection and 469 product applications. In addition to course content, the CD also includes interactive tests and practical lab exercises to help students apply their knowledge and measure their progress. The CD delivers course content through multimedia, graphics, animations and narration, all of which are designed to guide the student step by step through the technical material. For virtually anyone responsible for motor protection, this CD provides a highly valuable learning experience that allows users to progress through the material at their own pace.

The CD contains five main learning modules that cover motor theory, thermal modeling, protection principles as well as setup, configuration and troubleshooting of the 469 relay. The theory sections feature content ranging from basic and abstract motor concepts to thermal modeling principles such as standard and custom overload curves to motor protective elements such as the Short Circuit element. The CD also offers a wealth of knowledge on the GE Multilin 469 relay, including detailed tutorials and exercises covering installation and removal, front panel features, wiring, inputs/outputs, software setup and relay configuration. At the end of each module, students are tested on their newly acquired knowledge.

GE Multilin's interactive learning CDs have been developed based on increasing customer demand for new training solutions that fit the current industrial environment. Allan Levson, Product Manager for GE Multilin's software products, comments that, 'When instructor-led courses are not possible, interactive learning provides an opportunity to gain and apply knowledge in a convenient and economical format. In addition, the CD is a great refresher course for students who have attended the in-class training. Students have the flexibility to study at their own pace and on their own schedule with multiple opportunities to apply their newly-acquired skills.'
