07 March 2003 - GE Industrial Systems The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co. (EET) is using GE Multilin relays in a new 66/11kV substation that will supply power to a large new commercial center called the Golden Pyramids Plaza, the first of its kind in Egypt. The plaza, consisting of office and residential towers, as well as the hotels and a commercial center, will draw between 30 and 40 MW of power from the substation's 125MW capacity. This project is being completed jointly with GE-Hitachi HVB, who is supplying the high voltage breakers and switchgear for the substation. The protection, control and metering relays are being installed and commissioned by Matelec, a GE Multilin VAR based in Lebanon. |
