Based on the well established A1029-A with STMicroelectronics' STA2051 and SiGe's SE4100L downconverter, the A1035-B takes once more advantage of the capabilities of the STA2051 baseband processor. The Bluetooth stack runs completely in this processor which then is linked to the Bluetooth RF STLC2500 Bluetooth Radio & Digital baseband. So only 3 processors (STA2051, SE4100L, STLC2500) together with GPS and Bluetooth antennas combine to an optimized solution. Series production is planned for Q1 2006.

Tyco Electronics has unveiled new mini-spool dispenser packaging for RAYCHEM brand RNF-100 heat-shrinkable tubing. With the mini-spool dispenser, customers can order RNF-100 tubing in lengths from 15 feet to 100 feet depending upon the size selected. Customers can cut lengths right from the mini-spool dispenser to meet their requirements. Previously, spool packaging was only available in large volume/bulk spooling.

Raychem Circuit Protection, a business unit of Tyco Electronics, announces that its new PolySwitch TRF600-150 circuit protection devices are now UL recognized to UL 1434 and have passed UL tests from UL497A. The PolySwitch devices meet the UL specification for 'Secondary Protectors for Communication Circuits' for telecom and networking applications, and help provide resettable overcurrent protection in telephones, fax machines, set-top boxes, security systems, modems, and other electronic equipment that must comply with UL 60950 and TIA-968-A standards.

Tyco Electronics recently introduced the CORCOM MRI 2030R facility electro-magnetic interferenc filter. This next generation product is a considerable improvement over the previous generation in terms of size and leakage current performance. The MRI 2030R consumes one-fifth the volume and passes only 3% of the leakage current compared to the previous generation of MRI facility EMI filters. More, the MRI 2030R maintains the performance necessary to meet MIL-STD-220A of 100 dB of attenuation from 5 MHz up to 20 GHz.

GPS Modules A1029A and A1029B deliver highly accurate position determination Munich, Germany (18 January, 2005), Tyco Electronics announces the release of dead reckoning features on its smallest GPS modules, the A1029A and A1029B. After initial implementation on the A1030 model, which besides dead reckoning concurrently supports EGNOS/WAAS, data storage and much more, both the A1029A and A1029B modules now offer dead reckoning functionality as well. As a result, the two modules are able to determine an accurate position even without access to satellites, e.g. in tunnels, by processing sensor data. This development makes the A1029A the smallest dead reckoning module on the market, requiring the least number of external components for correct, continuous position calculation.

Tri-Barrier strip comes with safety cover

Tyco Electronics recently introduced BUCHANAN brand .325-inch centerline tri-barrier strips equipped with a safety cover. This new product can be used in printed circuit board power I/O applications across a number of industries including industrial controls, power supplies, HVAC, test equipment, telecom and other general-purpose use. The safety cover is clear plastic and allows the terminal contact screw to be loosened and tightened through an access hole. Additionally, the cover is hinged to the barrier strip base and provides convenient access to the wire entry of the contact clamp.
