Computer Solutions has introduced a versatile small-format, analogue/digital I/O module with a CAN Bus interface that is configurable via the Bus without requiring any embedded programming skills. The new PCAN-MicroMod can be plugged into an application board to provide control and monitoring services via the CAN Bus. It provides eight analogue inputs with 10-bit resolution, eight digital inputs and eight outputs, along with four PWM/frequency outputs with a range from 1 Hz to 20 kHz.

An emulator support package for the latest Infineon XC166 V2 processor is now available from Computer Solutions. The new package is based on a JTAG card interface for the iC3000 and iC4000 emulators from iSYSTEM GmbH, and supports operation at voltages from 5 V down to 1.8 V. It supports the processor running at up to its maximum frequency of 200 MHz, and debugging takes place in real time.
